Materials & Development Business Engineer

We are seeking a dynamic Business Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a background in materials sciences and business administration, with a passion for market research, R&D, and business development. This role involves extensive travel throughout Europe and remote communication with global contacts.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Market Research & Analysis:

Support the development of the Tool Materials Business Line by conducting business analysis, developing strategic recommendations, exploring development opportunities, and identifying R&D and business development programs.

  • Visit small customers and new leads throughout Europe.
  • Conduct phone/Teams contacts for the rest of the world.
  • Map the global metal powders market.
  • Analyze metal powders production technologies.
  • Focus on selected metals and applications, including hard facing, coatings, and Spark Plasma Sintering.
  • Target end industries such as defense, aerospace, mobility, and connectivity.
  • Identify potential European funding opportunities.
  • Initiate and manage collaborative projects with European partners.
  • Develop and maintain networks with the group government relations department, industry associations, and other relevant entities.

 

Business IT & Digitalization:

  • Controlling: Develop tools to show profitability per customer and per product.
  • Data Management for R&D, DI, and Applied Technology: Create and manage a centralized database to include all historical and future data developed at Tool Materials in R&D, DI, and Applied Technology.

 

Profile:

  • Engineering degree in materials sciences, with additional training in business
  • Fluent in French and English; proficiency in other languages is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel frequently.
