Your mission

In the context of high-quality standards and continuous improvement, we are looking for a Methods Engineer to improve the reliability and optimisation of our production processes. The Methods Engineer (M/F) will be responsible for improving USPF's competitiveness and enabling the production unit to achieve its objectives in terms of quality, productivity, profitability, safety and the environment. Reporting to the Innovation Manager, this cross-functional and strategic role involves collaboration with the production, design office, analysis laboratory, product quality, R&D and industrial development teams. Your tasks will include:

 

  • Analyse existing production processes and identify malfunctions, inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement.
  • Implement measurement tools, collect and analyse production data.
  • Design, develop and implement effective working methods and production tools to optimise production, ensure quality and increase profitability.
  • Develop tools, procedures and operating methods to standardise production operations.
  • Participate in the design and layout of production lines and workstations.
  • Assist in configuring technical data in tools (ERP): items, ranges, parts lists, production rates, etc.
  • Train staff in new working methods, technical developments and skills transfer.
  • Raise awareness among production staff of the importance and benefits of these methods in ensuring quality and meeting safety and environmental requirements.
  • Define, implement and monitor performance indicators and analyse data to track process efficiency and make corrections where necessary.
  • Monitor technological developments to identify new methods and best practices in industrial production and integrate them into production processes.
  • Support continuous improvement projects by helping to define objectives, timelines and budgets, while measuring performance.
  • Write technical reports, documentation on production methods and procedures, and training materials.

 

Your profile

Your education

You have a master's degree in methods, production management, industrial systems engineering, or a general or specialised engineering degree (materials engineering, process engineering, etc.). Experience in an industrial setting is required, ideally in a production environment and in metallurgy.

 

Your skills

  • You have knowledge of manufacturing processes and the properties of metallic materials.
  • You have the ability to analyse complex technical data and propose solutions for improvement.
  • You are proficient in office IT tools (Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Power BI), statistics, production management (SAP, TRS, TRG, TRE, PDCA, 5M, Poka-Yoke, etc.), project management and continuous improvement (Kaizen, Kanban, 5S, Visual Management, etc.). Skills in database management and data analysis/machine learning are desirable (Aveva PI Server, PI Asset Framework, TrendMiner, SQL language, VBA language, Power Query, M language, Python, etc.).
  • You are fluent in French and English (read, written and spoken).
  • You enjoy working in the field, demonstrating leadership skills and have a flair for teaching.
  • You have knowledge of process safety and chemical risks.
  • You have project management skills combined with a structured, solution-oriented approach to work.
