What you will be doing

As EOM Controlling organization, we have to be able to take on a business partnering function, to shift the focus from data gathering, analysis and reporting towards providing insights, influencing and crafting impact! This requires for the controlling foundations to be present and adopted by the organization, which is what you as business line controller will work on.

The primary purpose of your role is to provide financial leadership and analytical support to the Infra-Red (IR) Solutions business line, enabling informed decision-making and supporting the business line in the execution of its strategy. You will co-ordinate all financial aspects of the business line, driving profitability and implementing financial strategies to support growth and operational excellence. In these regards, you also co-ordinate with Global Financial Services NA and EU and local accountants supporting operational activities. As BL Controller you will be part of the management team of IR Solutions and report to the Head of Controlling.

Your detailed responsibilities :

  • Financial planning & analysis
    • Lead the financial planning and analysis process for the IR Solutions business line, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
    • Assist in the strategic planning for the business line as part of the yearly BU wide exercise.
    • Follow up and challenge the different teams of GFS NA and EU supporting EOM
    • Acquire in-dept understanding of the production process and commercial flows to ensure an accurate FP&A process.
    • Collaborate with the Head of Controlling and Controller to ensure alignment on the BU-wide FP&A process.
  • Financial reporting and compliance
    • Report and analyse financial performance providing insights, identifying trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement. This includes the monthly P&L reporting, as well as custom reports tailored to specific needs.
    • Prepare and present financial reports and insights to senior management and key partners.
    • Manage financial risk and compliance within the IR Solutions business line, ensuring adherence to Group and BU policies, internal controls and regulatory requirements.
    • Support internal and external audits at the different IR Solutions sites
  • Business partnering
    • Partner with operational teams to develop, maintain and enhance performance measurement through material flows, cost models, production accountability dashboards (PAD’s), etc. You will thereby also train people within the organization to increase the level of financial awareness and understanding.
    • Effectively communicate sophisticated financial information to non-financial partners
    • Partner with cost center owners to manage expenses covering SG&A and R&D
    • Conduct investment and scenario analysis and evaluate business cases for new initiatives, providing recommendations based on financial viability and strategic alignment.
    • Interact with the BU controlling team on BU- and Groupwide projects
  • Systems management and Cash management

 

Who we are looking for

  • You hold a Master degree in economics or equivalent through experience
  • You have a validated first experience (>5 years) of dynamic challenges in controlling
  • A profound knowledge of SAP is an asset
  • You have an analytical mind and you are able to understand and tackle sophisticated problems
  • You are an accurate and structured worker with flexibility and sense of initiative
  • You have strong leadership and interpersonal relationship skills
  • You are a strong teammate
  • You have good oral and written communication skills in English. Understanding and speaking French and/or Dutch is a nice plus
  • You are willing to travel abroad (max. 10% of your time)
